Tenement Sculpture

Public Art Prototype | Steel Sculpture

Dress for the Weather are supporting ENABLE Scotland by auctioning off our tenement sculpture, which is a prototype for an upcoming public artwork.

The event will be held on the 30th October 2014 and more information can be found on the Architecture Meets Art website:

ameetsa.com

The sculpture is inspired by Glasgow's predominant building type - the tenement.  It follows the proportion, volume and profile of the Glasgow Tenement but presents this in an 'outline' form.  Rather than use literal means of representation, such as materiality, the sculpture uses more abstract architectural ideas to create the tenement form.

The sculpture is made from solid steel sections and blackened and measures 130mmx160mmx200mm.
