House Extension | Scotstoun, Glasgow
A single -storey rear extension to the Norse Cottages within Scotstoun Conservation Area. The extension design looks to tie in with the stepping and intersecting roof forms of the existing terrace while also introducing a contemporary aesthetic within the conservation area.
The roof form creates an enlarged living space and dining space that exposes the stone of the existing house internally. The layout of the space also improves the connection to the kitchen and the large rear garden.
The extension will be finished in a white brick - giving a textured, coursed surface - with natural slate used on the roof. A hint of colour has been introduced to the patio doors and rooflights to match the colour highlights in the existing house.
