House Extension | Lenzie
Dress for the Weather were comissioned to develop designs for a residential plot in Lenzie.
The project compromises a new side extension and overcladding to an existing bungalow house in Lenzie. The overclad of the 1970’s house improves the environmental performance of the house but also allows introduces timber cladding in a contemporary style.
The extension adds living space to the ground floor as well as helping to rationalise the layout of the existing house. The long volume of the extension allowed for the most efficient layout of rooms while also creating an interesting proportional relationship between existing and proposed.
Also, by extending into the back garden, a new courtyard space was created which allowed a more meaningful relationship between the house and the large rear garden.
