Holmwood House Makers Exhibition
Craft Exhibition | Holmwood House, Glasgow
Continuing our relationship with Holmwood House, Dress for the Weather commissioned a series of contemporary craft inspired by Holmwood House and its surroundings.
The project was part of the 2016 Year of Architecture, Innovation and Design. Five Glasgow makers each interpreted the house, designed by Alexander 'Greek' Thomson, before producing a unique piece of work in their specialist craft.
The crafts were furniture making, paper making, ceramics, stained glass and screenprinting. All relate to the existing architecture and heritage of the house.
Each of the makers also ran a craft workshops during reasearch and development period before the work was launched at the Holmwood House Garden Party in August 2016.
