Residential alteration in Giffnock. The house had been extended and altered several times resulting in a complexity of plan. The brief was to improve the layout of the back of the house and create a façade generously open onto the garden.
The Project is composed around the creation of an open plan kitchen + living area with retrieved high ceilings and maximum light. The fluidity of the plan turns the kitchen into a real living space that can accommodate simultaneous occupancies for all members of the family. The ceiling difference of ceilings heights and the installation of a wood-burning stove complete the natural partitions of the room.
Rework on the roofs and back façade allows for the introduction of more roof lights and wider glazed areas. When weather permits, the new bi-folding doors open fully the dining area to the garden.
